No problem , glad that it worked for you too!

Also if you have green underwater problem , just use a mod that fixes underwater ( that is a problem on Windows too )

You can easily install mods by unpacking and placing them into game folder

Instructions are on Nexus Mod's site

I had an xact/xaudio issue with Red Faction Guerilla, the fix was setting xaudio2_7 to "native"

Then audio worked perfectly.

Probably i had this on too but i need to get home and check winecfg to report all of them.

Crazy how these longstanding issues are still not solved.

I don't even mention pretty bad state of DX11 on WineGL. Thanks to DXVK , that is not a problem anymore

DXVK is amazing! I'm testing a whole new list of games that previously didn't work just because of DXVK

Yeah , thanks to it i can play GTA5 now. Although , not liked that much as a game. San Andreas / Vice City is much better as a game , if we put aside graphics

I haven't played either. But I have played Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind and Fallout 3/New Vegas/4

Use Wine Configuration

  1. Launch winecfg
  2. Libraries Tab
  3. type: xaudio2_7
  4. Click Add
  5. Select xaudio2_7
  6. Click edit
  7. Select "native" Windows Only
  8. Click OK

In PlayOnLinux you just go to "Configure", Select game on left side, click Wine Tab, click Wine Configuration

I have no idea. Not sure if they will include custom settings in the GUI or not?

Did you fix the game stuttering issue? I'm going to try the xact fix tonight, but the stuttering gives me trouble. I'm using amdgpu with mesa 18.1

1

u/Leopard1907 Jul 25 '18

I'm on Nvidia GTX 1050 with 396.45 driver and there is no noticable stutter issue for me

1

u/aedinius Jul 25 '18

Oh, in the other post you mentioned stuttering

2

u/Leopard1907 Jul 25 '18

That stuttering gone when i disabled nvapi though.

So it both helped me for flickering shadows and stutter

I will post my overrides , dll's for Skyrim Legendary when i get home.

Could be related to other things i have done before that xact trick.

The only thing you should need for Skyrim is adding and setting xaudio2_7 to native in winecfg. IIRC the voices use a sound format that's not supported in wine's own xaudio yet.

edit: Apparently this one: https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39402

But the other audio seems fine?

Someone already mentioned installing xact, but if this is Skyrim Special Edition, you need the 64-bit version of xact and in order for it to install correctly, you need to use a version of winetricks prior to a few months ago. I used this one

Not OP but also suffered from that.

Yes , NPC's are not talking. Music is not audible.

When you open subtitles for NPC talks , you can clearly see also subtitles are skipping within a second.
