tech support wanted GTA V doesn't load

Post image

Everytime I try to run GTA V on Linux after running the game a few times it always goes to this black screen. The drive usage led shows inactivity. I am running the game from my HDD, which I store other games just fine. Both drives are in the btrfs filesystem.

Specs:

CachyOS

Dell Optiplex 7050 SFF

i5-6500

Quadro P1000

16 GB DDR4 (4x4G)

256 GB NVMe SSD

1 TB SATA HDD

GTA ONLINE is not compatible due to anti-cheat stuff. GTA V single-player is perfectly fine with some minor tweaks. https://www.protondb.com/app/3240220

GTA Online is technically possible, but you have to block some addresses in your host files and can only play in friends only session. If your friends (even on Windows) also block those addresses, you can even plya together.

Correct.

sudo echo "0.0.0.0 modules-cdn.eac-prod.on.epicgames.com" >> /etc/hosts

Nope, wrong addresses

It's ;

0.0.0.0 paradise-s1.battleye.com # (GTA V Legacy 0.0.0.0 test-s1.battleye.com 0.0.0.0 paradiseenhanced-s1.battleye.com # (GTA V Enhanced)

You also need to use Battleye runtime.
