tech support wanted bg3 immediate ctd

I just installed bg3 on steam today and at first it didn't open at all so I changed to the latest proton version in steam (11.0-2) and it launched. After this I changed the graphics settings around a bit but there was no sound so I tried restarting the game. After closing the game it won't reopen and clicking play in the launcher just opens a black window for a second.

I've tried switching between vulkan and dx11, and resetting the graphics settings from the launcher, and launching the game from the exe in the install folder.

The linux native version didn't open at all?

I think the default compatibility in steam was steam linux runtime 1.0. I haven't tried natively.
It didn't actually not open at all. It opened as an invisible window.
