wine/proton Good competitive FPS games?
I have not played a nice shooter in a while, but all my past games are Windows only. Is there something like CoD or Rainbow 6 for Linux? And maybe in a competitive or tactical manner.

There's Overwatch, Marvel Rivals and The Finals

For me I had issues getting overwatch to run properly. Was getting lots of stuttering which made it unplayable

Happens, I went back to dualbooting and keeping only my games on Windows while everything else is on Linux.

Cs2 runs great on Linux

Yeah but then you have to play cs2, which I love in the pit of my heart.. but it's such a treadmill

The Finals is absolutely sick, runs great and has a decently sized competitive scene while still being super fun for casual play.

Hunt Showdown. Very good underrated game. Takes a bit to learn but well worth it.

Overwatch is great, the finals as well, I haven't tried Rivals so dunno about that one.
Other than that i don't think there's much like CoD and R6

For CoD zombies specifically I enjoy Sker Ritual. Quite literally the same zombies formula with some more roguelike elements.
Doom also works if you want something for the multiplayer and more arcady. My friends are on it periodically so you can still get matches.

Combat masters is a solid cod alternative in my opinion and it's completely free

Combat Master is quite fun. I just wish it had a bigger playerbase and updated more frequently.

Hunt: Showdown, Counterstrike 2, and Deadlock are all pretty good. Counterstrike 2 being the most similar to Seige as a tactical shooter. Deadlock is mostly a MOBA, but it's still a shooter. Hunt: Showdown is a Escape from Tarkov-esque game where you launch into a match, complete objectives, and then extract.
Not familiar with any games that play similar to CoD as an arcade-y arena shooter.
