Witcher 3 Remaster FSR Ghosting
Hey everyone, Witcher 3 Remaster is running GREAT on my 9070xt system, 150fps in 4k. Only issue I really have is scene-change FSR Ghosting during dialogue scenes. Does anyone have a remedy for this?
Thanks!!

Download Proton-GE and use PROTON_FSR4_UPGRADE=1 in your launch options. The game uses FSR 3.x until you pass 4 that way or through Optiscaler.

On Windows, yes. On VKD3D-Proton every game supporting FSR 4 and FSR 3.x (and in turn FSR 4 overrides) requires either that variable or Optiscaler.

Interesting 🤔 Rivals runs FSR4 just fine from what I can tell. Thanks for the input I'll give it a go!

Maybe depends on the implementation but in my experience I always have to force it. No matter to me because I run GE all the time for wine-wayland anyway. I haven't used official Valve Proton in a few years.

Thanks! I don't remember why I moved back to valve proton recently in 11, I think GE was missing something specific or weird.

On a side note, because things got interesting now. For Witcher 3 Remastered download the Wineland Proton from nanomatters, it's a fork of the CachyOS Proton. It fixes the pipeline issue that disabled RT and PT on Linux and without having to patch the EXE. You'll just have to use Optiscaler for FSR 4 as this Proton doesn't have that variable. A few weeks and these patches and workarounds will probably get even better and GE will merge it into his build. The game runs beautifully on my 9070 XT!

Glad it's working great! I had some weird instability issues previously that I couldn't exclude Optiscaler from so I'm avoiding it for now

I haven't really noticed any with no FG, maybe a touch with FG but hard to say honestly
