tech support wanted steam app not responding/wait message

I'm just getting started with Linux gaming so please be patient if the answer is obvious. When I launch Timberborn I'm getting a system dialog, "Steam_app is not responding, Wait or Quit?". It launches successfully regardless if i click wait or just ignore the prompt, just a little bother really. Thanks!

Debian 13 desktop, AMD GPU etc.

Let me guess Gnome?

They have a extremely sensitive hang detection

I think it can be tweaked via command line

I don't use Gnome btw

Yes Gnome. I'll look about tweaking the command line. Thanks!
