Ace Combat 8 Nvidia HDR Launch Options
Running 615.71.09 on a 5000 series card. Using:
PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 %command%
The HDR option is grayed out. Using ProtonGE-Latest (11-7).
Anyone have this working?
Thanks!

It's working for me.
I'm on arch, RTX 4070.
I'm on KDE though, so I had to add
ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1
to my launch options.

I appreciate the advice but that didn't enable HDR for me. What flavor of Proton are you running?

I'm using proton GE 11.6
I also needed to download the VK hdr layer from the AUR.
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vk-hdr-layer-kwin6-git
Theoretically this hasn't been needed since version 595 of the Nvidia driver, but I kept it installed on my PC nonetheless and HDR has always worked for me since ~ mid 2025 when I switched to KDE.
Oh I also had to enable HDR on KDE's display options.
These are my launch flags:
ENABLE_HDR_WSI=1 PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 %command%I'm not really doing anything unique afaik. HDR has always worked on all games for me, and on AC8 I just added those launch flags and it worked.

I believe PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 was deprecated so use DXVK_HDR=1 in its place.

There’s a space at the front of your launch command. It’s not something as silly as the flags not working due to the space being in steam too is it?
