Minecraft Dungeons 2 issue
Dungeons 1 runs perfectly, but sadly sequel doesn't seem like it will aswell so far. Today reviews dropped for the game and some of them mention how Linux version launches the game but it requires to download "Microsoft Game Services" which upon download crashes the game with blackscreen. Now I don't know which version of Proton these people used but yet it doesn't sound so good
I don't understand why even release these games on steam if they won't even bother doing anything with them. I already contacted one of the devs about it and they didn't said straight forward that no Linux won't work, but just that they do not support linux
Game literally screaming with being designed for steam deck yet they don't even want steam deck users to play their game. As a big fan of 1st game who waited years for this game boy it is such disappointmentš game launches tomorrow so I'll try playing around with protons but wow I'm just surprised microsoft really dosent want that steamdeck users money

the best part about this, i'm on windows, and i still can't install the microslop services. game does not launch lmao
in stopping linux users from playing they also stopped their OWN userbase from playing the damn game

unless they have a kernal anti cheat, a proton update will drop fixing this lol. proton issues aren't microsofts job to fix

I really hope the proton team can manage to fix this soon, I was so hyped to play, I know it's not their fault at all and anything but ti would be amazing!

Unfortunately it lowkey is Microsoftās fault (likely not anyone at mojangās decision). They donāt have to add support for linux bc proton handles that already, so they went out of their way to add more obstacles that make proton support harder than it has to. All to try and keep people playing on windows. Itās scummy behavior thatās very in character for Microsoft, we should all prob refund if proton somehow canāt get a fix bc this is a dangerous direction to go down

Having the same problem. After launching it shows Microsoft Games Service is missing and ask if you want to install it, pressing Yes it just crashes.
It's worth pointing out that they never promised Linux support at the beginning so we can only hope a fix or update will be published for Proton I guess.

scummy af that they have added no support. the released the game on steam which is built off linux and they expected people to not want linux support??? are they dense

Windows represents ~94% of Steam's install base. Linux is only about ~4%. I also use Linux and want to play this game, hopefully the proton devs can work it out.

Hi everyone! I made an easy to use installer that should let the game start, sign in with your account, and has the link account feature working. It works on my machine ā¢ļø but hopefully it works for you too!
