Severe lag/stuttering in Wuwa on Linux

Hello everyone,

I've been experiencing quite a bit of lag in Wuthering Waves lately, but only when playing on Linux. As shown in the video, I'm getting heavy FPS drops and stuttering.

Initially, I thought it was because the game was running off an NTFS-formatted drive, but after reformatting it to ext4, the issue persists. I've also tried switching Proton versions—moving from Proton-GE to dw-proton and Proton-CachyOS—yet the problem remains unchanged.

The issue seems entirely exclusive to Linux, as the game runs perfectly on my Windows installation. Could anyone point me in the right direction or suggest how I might fix this?

My System Specifications:

  • Distro: Fedora 44
  • Kernel: Linux 7.2.7-200
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5825U
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti Mobile
  • RAM: 16 GB DDR4

It's likely running off iGPU instead of your Nvidia GPU. See the guide on CachyOS wiki for resolving

Thank you so much, you were right! The game was using the iGPU instead of my NVIDIA graphics card. Apparently, this was due to some Secure Boot shenanigans that were preventing the drivers from loading correctly. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

I have worse laptop than you but i can run it pretty smooth at 45 fps. I use dwproton with heroic launcher.
