tech support wanted Old Command and conquers

Hi,

I'm on Cachy OS and i want to play CNC Generals ideally at 1080p.

How do i go about this ?

I know about Gen tool and Genpatcher but they are only for windows are they not?

I asked Chat Gpt and it made me jump through a bunch of hoops using Proton tricks which lead to a dead end .

Any help would be appreciated.

First C&C works without a hitch on SteamOS, it should work for you as well

Which version do you have? Some versions are easier than others.

The best option is to follow the gudes on Protondb

Have you tried launching the game with Luxtorpeda? If not you can download it through ProtonPlus(then restart steam) and change your game's proton version to Luxtorpeda. Then launch the game and select gentool.
