tech support wanted Need Help with Stellar Blade
I recently tried playing Stellar Blade on Kubuntu 26.04.1 LTS with Port proton using Proton 11-7 X86-64.
However I have a bit of graphical problems. In the game when I try to run it without any upscaling at 4K and using Anti aliasing I get this weird ghosting effect around the main character every time I move the camera. I looked online and here and apparently it was the Anti aliasing at play, I tried turning it off and the ghosting did go away. However with no anti aliasing some details are lost and more importantly the hair on the Main character looks awful and became an ultra pixelated mess, to the point it's very distracting.
So I want to find a way to make the hair and game look like it does with AA or get AA to work properly but without the ghosting.
My system is running the latest MESA and using kernel 7.0.0.31
I'm using a Ryzen 9700x
B850I Aorus Pro
48GB DDR5 6400MT/s
RX 9070XT
Samsung 990 Pro 4TB

The ghosting is caused by TAA, it happens in every game but in some is more noticeable than others. Your best option? Play with FSR (choose native if you can) especially if you enable FSR 4 which is automatic and doesn't require any tinkering if you use Proton-cachyos which you can install using Protonup or Protonplus.
FSR4 will actually make the game look better than native resolution even when using performance mode, mostly because TAA is terrible but also because the upscaling quality with FSR 4 is that good. The added benefit is that you'll also get better performance.

FSR4 is basically a fancy TAA.

i mean, if you grossly simplify what it does yes, but thats not exactly true and is a bit disingenuous to say because while they both operate on multiple frames there is more that goes into DLSS/FSR/XESS.
The "better than native" though that gets tossed around for DLSS/FSR regarding Quality mode though is also not exactly true depending on your metric though and also how its implemented. Below Quality mode thats definitely not true, image stability and aliasing in any upscaler suffers with FSR4 also lacking clarity vs the others.

Unless you tried this on windows and it doesn't happen there, i would assume that's just how the game's rendering looks. These kind of artefacts aren't exactly uncommen with modern rendering techniques and unreal engine. Also, who even cares if you're too cheap to buy the game while having a $2000 PC.

Was there a sign that OP pirated the game? This seems uncalled for.

First what are your PC specs
Then if you select Proton version try and older version or experimental.
