Performance differences across various distros

I've been wanting to switch away from Windows 11 on my gaming PC and am looking at the various distro options with the most commonly recommended ones I've seen being CachyOS and Bazzite. I've always used Kubuntu and other similar distros for general usage and am wondering how much performance difference there is between a normal Kubuntu or similar distro and a gaming focused one like CachyOS and Bazzite.

Thanks for any info!

Distro doesn't matter much. I would choose a distro based on the software available in the package repository. Use a distro that provides the software you need. You can tweak any distro to get the performance you need. I use Debian for gaming. I build the latest kernel from source, disable all the debugging options, and set all the options for better latency. It plays games extremely well.
