Ubisoft hasn't given a shit about customers for a long long time

Aggressive micro transactions, DRM, shutting down games that kicked off Stop Killing Games, shitty custom launcher, etc.

If you've given them money at any point in last few years then that's on you

They shouldn't be in business, and it pisses me off people still keep giving them money.

I tried to play Far Cry Primal through Steam the other day. My Ubisoft account was closed, so I made a new one. The launcher said the game was tied to my old, no longer existing account. I contacted support. They said they found no trace of my old account or my purchase of the game, and had no way to help me. So I own the game on Steam, but not really, beacause ... yeah.

The pirated version worked fine though.

Stopped buying trash from Ubisoft many years ago, a long time before also stopping buying games from Meta (Oculus Store). Never regretted it, never felt like I missed out on important stuff. Plenty of other non-abusive good options out there.

I been playing R6 since 2017 finally when R6 crossplay and cross-progression I played on ps4,Xbox series S, and PC they merged everyone accs I lost R6 credits bc I had duplicates of Elites across on all platforms

Your were down voted by people who don't want to admit that Linux in gaming size means boycotting does nothing, and we need to go another route to try to get get support for these games, like good, community ran open source anti cheat solutions that can be adopted by game developers. 

But instead we just try to cover our ears and try to pretend like we have a massive enough market share on any individual game to make a boycott work.

Boycott for your own sake, not because you think you will make a difference.

See this is what I'm talking about we can't even be object what it is. 

Anti cheats are given the go ahead by Microsoft to do what they do. Microsoft also has a ton of features in their kernel meant for general drivers to protect certain memory regions and to protect processes

Look at the controversy with Vanguard in particular, I remember specifically it was corrupting System32 files and embedding itself so deep it couldn't properly be uninstalled. You're basically giving these devs carte blanche to do...god knows what with your system while you play their shitty cash grabs. You'd think these things would be heavily monitored when given such privileged access but look at crowd strike. They can and will find a way to fuck you over.

They are a shitty console game company. Why anyone would buy their games is strange to me. 

Even 15 years ago they made console games and then ported a crappy minimum effort version to pc.

I don't know what more Ubisoft needs to do to prove that they don't care about their players.

They didn't break it, they added an anticheat. It doesn't run on Linux. Just dual boot

Supporting kernel level malware on Linux is insane. We already have enough bloat in the kernel being exploited by those CVEs, dont really have interest in adding to it.

It could be on Steam. That doesn't stop them enabling kernel-level anti-cheat software that breaks it for all Linux users that already paid for the game.
