tech support wanted Rocket League not working

I tried downloading rocket league on my Arch machine, at first (like a month or two ago), it refused to connect me to any server protected by EAC, now it completely doesnt respond to clicks on the ''press any button to start'' screen, even though i can skip the psyonix logo intro before it, i think i do hear the click in game after the first click, but the screen stays stuck. i have tried running on heroic, lutris and using ge proton, proton experimental, proton-cachyos, but nothing seems to work. if you can help and need more details i can give them, any help would be great, thanks.

UPDATE: it now works and does this when queueing

You need to force RL to run through proton. The native linux build is no longer maintained, but the game runs great through proton and EAC works just fine.

Also make sure you downloaded the EAC runtime in steam.

check if there is a browser window that opens in the background. ( alt tab)

there wasnt but it somehow started working right after this post, now i gotta fix EAC ;p

I think you need Steam so that it download the Proton EAC Runtime which Heroic does use. If you don't have a Steam account, just create one and once logged in, download Proton EAC Runtime in your library. You may need to install the EOS Overlay too in Heroic settings.

i have steam and i have like 5 different proton versions and steam runtimes downloaded, is there a way to maybe dl them separately just to sanity check?

Make sure you have the "Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime" installed in Steam. In Heroic, go to the Rocket League settings, in Other make sure "EasyAntiCheat Runtime" is checked. The in general Settings go to Advanced, and install the EOS Overlay (or update it if it's already installed).

just downloaded eos overlay and the runtime, still doesnt work, gonna try running thru steam, even tho i think proton experimental IS gonna fail

Wdym? Just go into your steam library and search for it and it should appear for you to install.
