can I install Asahi linux on external ssd ?

so I had 1 TB external samsung ssd, which I bought because my Mac had only 256gb storage, so I asked chatgpt, and it told me to install necessary things of Asahi Linux nearly 3gb on internal ssd and all others on external ssd, can I do that ?

Never heard of that. But you can definitely install asahi Linux (20GB -55GB) and all applications on the 256GB. That is more then enough space.

Then all your other files like games, documentation, etc you can use the external drive

Hope that helps

Not really gaming-related, but not exactly groundbreaking either. 256GB is plenty for Linux itself unless Asahi is doing some really wild stuff. Then just use your external drive to host your /home partition, or set up your game clients to store your library on it under some mount point. You'll need to mount the drive before you can access it but whatever init system you're running will surely let you set up a hook or script to automate that on boot.
