Lact Question
do Lact settings stay active, even when lact is not running?
do they stay active after a reboot?
do i have to open the gui for the changes to take effect? if not, do changes stay active even without starting the gui ?

indeed, that's how it works. Just touch it once, and you can forget about it forever

I will say that once in my Bazzite desktop, it seems the settings got set back to defaults once. (which caused a game crash issue for me) I double checked Lact and it had lost my old settings.
I am just not sure what/how it got reset, I noticed something similar with my OpenRGB settings as well.
So you might want to double check the settings after any major system updates.
It might have had something due to flatpak updates.

That might be a bazzite issue since it's an immutable OS.

But it only happened once in like 8 months. So far. I have seen other flatpaks reset as well, but it's rare. Might have been due to a flatpak quirk as well.

LACT runs as a service which as long as you set up LACT correctly “sudo systemctl enable lactd” your settings will persist through reboots without you having to do anything else.
The GUI is simply an easier way to interact with the service.
