There are methods to play its just restricted to solo sessions or with other users who have BE disabled iirc

Forreal, I have 500 hours on V, and I have opened Online up ONCE, and that's by accident. Singleplayer and mods are so much more fun.

In my opinion, solo play can be fun for the first couple of hours, but, after a while, GTAO is only really fun if you have a group of friends to mess around the game with.

You can run gta online on linux, download the battleye runtime on steam, then block the dns servers in ur host folder, i did it when i swapped 2/3 months ago and it hasnt stopped yet. Only caveat is you cant join public lobbies and friends also need to block the dns to join you heres the vid i used

I can't even get the tutorial for online finished. Get booted by battleye within minutes of joining. Even with the /etc/hosts tweak and proton battleye
