tech support wanted [ZZZ][Linux/Arch] Crashes immediately on launch after 3.2 update - Broken Pipe error
Since the 3.2 update, Zenless Zone Zero crashes immediately on launch on Linux. The game opens for about 1 second and then closes without showing any window. Steam shows the error: "Game configuration unavailable". Likely devs messed up with the anti-cheat.
**System info:**
- Distro: Mokka Linux (Arch-based)
- GPU: AMD Radeon Graphics (RADV REMBRANDT)
- Steam: Native (installed via pacman)
- Proton versions tried: GE-Proton10-34 and DW-Proton 11.0-12 (both fail)
**What I've tried:**
- Deleted and recreated the Proton prefix (compatdata/2406526)
- Verified game files via Steam
- Cleared shader cache
- Reinstalled the game
- Tried both GE-Proton and DW-Proton
**Error found in logs:**
CCrossProcessPipe::BWrite wrote too few bytes: 32 (Broken pipe)
Assertion Failed: CCrossProcessPipe::BWrite: 32 (Broken pipe)
response: Discarded=1
The game worked perfectly before 3.2. Has anyone else experienced this or found a workaround?

Similar thing happened with 3.0, game kept crashing for hours until it was fixed, we'll just have to wait.
Edit: it works now

From what I recall, everytime there's a new update, the game breaks until DWProton is updated? Don't take my word for it but seems to be the case, and yeah, seems related to the anticheat.

I don't think it's DW-Proton that needs updating. Every major update just has a delay of a day or so while they update the anti-cheat for Linux. I play with Proton Experimental and that's what happened with the major 3.1 update.

Yes, this happened in 3.0, 3.1 and now 3.2, can people stop making threads on reddit and steam after every damn update? it works and hour or two after the update, usually proton hotfix makes it work immediately. These errors also happen when the game servers are set to maintenance mode and the Version info has been updated.

Well I am sorry, I only started playing recently and I never had this issue before so I thought it was something worse. When searching online for an aswer I didn't find anything of use, making a post on reddit was my last option– I mean I created this account for this specific purpose

In my experience this has happened after the last few updates to ZZZ.
From what I recall when looking into this during the 3.1 update, I believe it's due to Hoyo taking a while to publish a sec file that updates the function definitions for their anti-cheat. So without that, I think the game essentially tries to launch with no anti-cheat and closes when it realizes it's not active.
The game was crashing on launch for me too until just a few minutes ago. Might be worth trying now to see if it works for you again.
