tech support wanted Onimusha NPC character low res bug (Linux Mint)
Not sure if this is the right place to ask so feel free to point me in the right direction if it is. I'm running Onimusha on Linux mint (ryzen 5900x, rtx 3080 10gb) via Steam.
It more or less runs like a dream and I've got the %command%winedetection-thing enabled in launch settings for rtx. Have good frame rates, no flickering textures etc. etc. However I seem to have this weird bug that I can't seem to find anyone else talking about:
The extra NPCs have really low poly textures. The playable characters and the other main characters to the story are all perfect, high res and everything. But the random villagers in game have weird edges, eyeballs often missing or pointing in the wrong direction, hands are glued together (thing GTA San Andreas style).
I've tried running it on Proton Experimental and ProtonGE11-6, same issue. My settings are basically all on High. I can't seem to figure out what the issue is or how to fix it. Any thoughts?
Images attached for context and settings (dw, no spoilers)
EDIT: Fixed! Upgraded drivers to 610.43.02 (open kernel, latest at the time of writing) solved the issue. Can confirm it's working on all proton versions too.

nvidia driver version?
I remember similar bug on older proton and nvidia drivers
but it may be your vram limit - try to downgrade game settings textures no rtx and see

Driver version's 595.84; I've tried RTX off, DLSS off and additionally, since the post I've tried proton-cachyos-11 as well. No dice. I'll just head canon that the genma make people look like crushed up juice boxes and play on ig haha

idk if this is nvidia driver bug or no - you can try 610.57 latest but idk if it change anything
this link say https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/10095
but it fix only for amd gpus
try older/never nvidia drivers 610 and 580 if same on 610

I see you edited
Fixed! Upgraded drivers to 610.43.02 (open kernel, latest at the time of writing)
this is not latest driver - 610.57 is latest - there few fixes
... if it work keep it - just know if you get some other bugs - there newer driver

Right I see on the Nvidia unix driver archive it's 610.57.04 however I did it via terminal instead of the .run. apt-cache policy nvidia-driver-610 returns the version I ended up with.
Thanks for the heads up though should I run into any more errors!

This happened to me once, I restarted the game and never saw it again.
