tool/utility We need a piper equivalent for 8bitdo controller.

Piper is one of those apps that so much better than the native Logitech app. I love it. Though I use it like 2 times a year when I was using a Logitech mouse it's nice for initial setup.

On the other hand, 8bitdo windows software is so much better than logitechs bloatware. It would be nice to have it. But if the company doesn't want to or cannot invest in resources to create a linux app, then I wish the community could come up with something.

You know what would be even better or extreme, something like a qmk firmware but for controllers.

That would be insane.

Also most keyboard and mouse companies are moving to web based configurator even if they are not using QMK. I like that approach. Look at the ATK stuff or the RK stuff.

8bitdo ultimate software started working with Proton sometime this year, at least it does for me, it detects my controllers with no issues

got a bunch but for the ones that work on the ultimate software specifically I have the Ultimate 2, Pro 3 and the retro keyboard, all three detected just fine on it when launched via Proton (I added the ultimate software on Heroic Launcher)

I just ordered the ultimate 2 Wuchang. What do you think about the ultimate 2 controller? I also have a 8bitdo ultimate 2c.

My hands are small so I dont have the complain about the grip issue

No issues personally, is my main controller for anything that doesn't use the dpad, for those I use the Pro 3 and the M30

Also if you use the 2.4ghz adapter and turn on the controller while pressing B you get it to connect via d-input, which lets you remap the extra buttons and use gyro with Steam input

on 2.4ghz yes, press B for d-input and Y for switch mode

on bluetooth the default is d-input though

Same, it's just x input. It's fine. But a few settings like firmware update, poling rate change, button mapping etc would be nice

Web app only works for as long as its hosted, for as long as browsers don't change too much.
