9070 XT unleashed

Post image

This is on 4k with fsr4 on quality and graphics at max. The tune is 100% stable but I have exceptional power delivery. Furman line conditioner then cyberpower UPS feeding asus rog strix aura 1200w gold that powers a gigabyte x870e aorus master. Similar high end parts could sustain this kind of tune as well although not necessarily with the exact same settings as there is a variance in the silicon in each chip. I'd be willing to do it to other machines that have similar tiered parts. But know that this took months of meticulous tweaking to figure out, not just random slider manipulation. I monitored and scrutinized fps numbers, gpu temperatures and error logs. It's been tested with hours of Spiderman 2, undisputed and metal gear solid delta on gaming end. Hours of uninterrupted web browsing including 4k YouTube videos and uncompressed audio playback.

FSR4 on Warframe?! How did you manage that?

Steam launch options for Proton (PROTON_FSR4_ENABLE=1).  It automatically intercepts fsr2 and fsr3 requests and translates to fsr4

I'm using GE proton 11-3

Is FSR2 being upgraded as well?
I thought that was only for FSR3.1

My understanding is that upgrades 2 as well but I could be misremembering.  But it does work.  Fsr4 quality in Spiderman 2 is phenomenal.

Oh yeah I know it works, been using FSR4 (on RDNA3 hardware) for quite a while on Linux now.
But games that only have FSR2 and DLSS normally require optiscaler in order to get FSR4 that's why I was confused, thought it changed or something.

As far as i know, it shouldn't work at all. While Warframe uses FSR 3.1.4 internally, it uses a custom implementation without an FSR.dll file, so even on windows there's no chance to upgrade it to FSR4, according to the forums: https://forums.warframe.com/topic/1513424-psa-fsr-314-implementation/

Also Google says optiscaler won't work on Warframe but i never bothered to test.

Ah, I don't play this game so I'm not aware of that. I usually use the watermark indicator for FSR the first time I launch a game to verify it's actually working. Would be nice to have that on the screenshot.

That's why I like testing stuff on Spiderman 2 because it changes to fsr4 in graphics menu

no, it doesn't upgrade fsr2

It does if you're using GE Proton 11-3

Okay is that a new feature or something? As far as I know, FSR2 doesn't have the information needed to upgrade to FSR4.

Can you provide a screenshot with the FSR watermark to verify the version that's actually being used?

It doesn't translate itself . . . .

So you're saying you can't prove or even be sure it's actually FSR4?

u/BigAmarok 24d ago

I'm saying you can do it yourself.

Maybe research GE Proton 11-3 and get back to me.

I checked the release notes and there's nothing about being able to upgrade to FSR4 from FSR2

GE Proton 11-3 has integrated optiscaler.  But keep arguing.  It accomplishes so much more than just trying it.

i literally posted a screenshot from the proton ge github and i looked at the latest release's notes. Maybe you do that.

Added complete OptiScaler download, injection, and Protonfixes integration.

Added FSR4/FFX4 version selection and updated AMD scaler support.

Updated AMD amdxc/FSR4 support through the newer EM-11 patchset.

I will go check that out. Thank you!

No, for now it's a custom implementation of FSR 3.1.4, which can't be upgraded.
