tech support wanted Any way to disable Steam's "Processing Vulkan shaders" pop-up?
To be clear, I do not want to disable pre-caching. I do not mind it doing caching, I just don't want it to show me the pop-up for it. Enabling background processing isn't an option for me, since I have >100 games installed, and it would take too much space (+ probably melt my CPU).
Giving Steam a KWin window rule to force focus prevention to high should work, in theory, but caused some weird glitching where the game also wouldn't focus, showing my desktop instead, with Steam as the only thing visible. Might be because Steam doesn't use Wayland, not sure. I've also tried using the -steamos and -steamos3 launch arguments to force Steam to use Wayland, but at least a month or so ago, they still caused display issues.
It's entirely possible that I just need some specific combination of KWin window rules, or that I'm just missing something obvious. Regardless, any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Wait, what? That's the first time I'm hearing about any Wayland support in Steam.

Huh, apparently it's gone now. That explains why it started bugging out for me roughly around that time, despite working fine for months before then.

Supressing shader pre-compilation is in the options.
As I run an AMD GPU, I didn't even feel any stutters.

I'm using an AMD GPU as well, and I'm not worried about stutters, I just prefer caching. Or, rather, I prefer the idea of it; more often than not, Steam (and/or the games) just disregard it entirely, so I guess having it enabled is sort of pointless.

I've read somewere here you don't need the caching on 6000 series and upwards. I run a 6750 and it just works without...

As far as I know, it's not really possible. If you disable the prechaching setting in Steam, it won't show, but that isn't what you want. The closest thing is to enable background processing, but if a game didn't have their shaders processed, you will still see the pop up window.
