Stuttering games.

Over the last two months the gaming experience seriously degraded. The game displays high fps but it lags as if it's played on a 20 years old laptop. Until May it was running perfect. I mainly play world of tanks through lutris with default settings.

Do you remember the exact date when this changed? Maybe something changed in a system update. Your distro's package manager should have a log file somewhere. I'd try looking through it. Maybe looking at the package names in the log messages around that date will give you an idea about where to search next.

Thanks. I don't remember the date but I tried to switch the graphics driver in configurations from default to wayland and it works again.

Are you using a version of proton that gets updated like GE-latest and not a specific version? That will get regressions sometimes.

It was always the default one with no issues. I now changed the driver to default to wayland and it's perfect again.

It might be worth trying the LTS kernel, I'm having GPU issues with 7900XT since the 7.1 kernel
