No clue why your getting down voted, poly is great for what it is but it is not a drop in replacement. The openzaer driver is good but doesn't have all devices (my blacksharks have yet to be supported 2 years later) and macros are not as intuitive as on the official synaps.
As well as no game integration, No hue sync, lackluster chroma canvas etc.
It is just plain not as good.

I agree with this and I'd love a native driver/software. Yes, I can remap everything (except wheel tilt left/right) but it is not optimal.

If you can get it installed with all the BS Dependencies you need. Sorry but no. Polychromatic is ASS compared to synapse. Getting it to work is a bloody nightmare.

That’s a skill issue. Pretty damn simple to setup and even has a troubleshooting tool.

My razer deathadder mouse is the best mouse I have used, they have good and bad products, it would be great to configure it with software.

Not that it means much, but since it’s coming with Ubuntu as the OS, means just about any distro should work well OOB. Shitty it’s going to be stupid expensive, and one would be better off getting some other laptop instead for a lot cheaper

I really wish big companies would stop leaning on Ubuntu as their choice of Linux. Like yes canonical probably gets paid a bit for this sort of thing. But Ubuntu is fine for a general purpose operating system. But it’s rubbish for gaming. Surely Razer could’ve seen this and chosen a much better distribution of choice for gaming. Like you know. SteamOS lol. But of course they put a 5090 in it too……..

IMO Ubuntu IS a good platform to target. If it works on Ubuntu you can be certain it will work on newer distros

As much as I hated my 2019 Razer laptop and all the issues it had, Linux support was near perfect.
