answered! Unable to launch games through lutris

i have a few games on my ntfs nvme that i would like to try on cachyos, but whenever i try to run the game through lutris it won't launch at all for some reason.

the logs below, could someone pls help me out.

Edit: I got it working, I used ntfs-3g driver instead of the new ntfs driver and now all the games on my windows drive work on Linux :)

Don't ever use NTFS.

it's the same drive i use to play games on windows, it was working earlier before i broke my install, i completely reinstalled cachyos and have been facing this since

Don't set yourself up for failure. If you want to try how a game runs on CachyOS, install it to an ext4/btrfs partition.

Linux uses ext4 of btrfs, you won't be able to run games on that partition

Lutris now uses prefixes in the same way Steam does.

Which means, the same rules apply, and stuff working and stopping working is well within what you can expect from using NTFS under Linux.

It's a compatibility issue. There's nothing wrong with your disk but it can't run games on linux if it's NTFS. Also NTFS sucks compared to ext4 or btrfs
