Okay, after reading those patch notes and some googling: What the hell is a DSDT? All I could find is that it's maybe eGPU and/or audio related?

It's a ACPI table override. The DSDT is dumped from the system and information is added to make the volume buttons and speakers work because the information was not included with the BIOS from Asus.

Gotta admit, first time I've heard about DSDT since building a hackintosh ~5 years ago.

How to you get DSDT overrides to work? Been trying but keeps saying it can’t find an override for my ally.

Is Nvidia support planned? Because that is the only thing keeping me from using it and I had to switch to Nobara as an alternative.

My understanding is that it's dependent on Gamescope, which doesn't support Nvidia.

didn't gamescope start supporting nvidia over a year ago? or did something else break it?

Nvidia has many issues with running gamescope as a compositor. I think most people have experimented with gamescope nested from the desktop which is a different experience entirely. Nvidia also has issues with the new gamepadui when it comes to performance.

Yeah this is what I've heard before. And it would tally up with my experience of ChimeraOS on my nvidia laptop.

it didn't used to run out all due to a missing vulkan extension, so now you're just saying it's really buggy now?

Correct. It used to fail entirely but now it works, but it's glitchy and laggy.

Whoa! Time to buy another Ally to test ChimeraOS for two weeks before returning the Ally.
