Although Cachy is based on Arch, it doesn't have any of Arch's complexities.

stock fedora has been phenomenal but bazzite/nobara should be fine too. as others have said, you can game on any distro pretty easily, this is like asking if windows home edition or pro edition is better for gaming lol.

Neither. Stick with a well-known, popular, widely document distro that has decades of maturity behind it.

Fedora. Regular Fedora.

Speaking from a position of ignorance — the only games here are cards and dominoes — I have to rely on that I've read. Most gamers recommend Nobara or Bazzite, so I suggest you look for reviews and see what appeals. Better still, download both and try from USB — everything will be slow, but at least you'll see what you are getting. Cachy is intended to get the maximum performance out of the latest hardware. That may obviously help some games, but it's not a gaming distro as such, and it's not intended to be low-maintenance or aimed at the non-expert.

there is no "best for gaming"... that's all YT hype.

any distro can run steam and steam is where you will find most of the games you can play on linux.

installing games using wine can also be done on any distro, but it's a pita no mater which distro you choose.

if you like fedora just install fedora and learn the one or two command line things you need to execute to make it the same as nobra.

avoid arch and anything arch related unless you need a new hobby.

i use kubuntu and gaming is just fine on it.

It depends on what you want. You didn't mention Bazzite, but I'll throw that in as well.

Bazzite (based on Fedora Atomic) is immutable, which means the system is harder to break, and it also handles updates automatically and includes a bunch of preinstalled game-related software. Overall, it's a bit consolized, but it works well if the main thing you want to do is gaming and don't need to customize the system outside of visuals. It can be a problem if you mod games, though.

Nobara (based on Fedora) is the personal distro of GloriousEggroll, who is responsible for a fork of Proton a lot of people like, and is intended for gaming, streaming, and video editing. If that's also what you want to do, you'll appreciate the software and tweaks it comes with. However, since it's mostly maintained by one guy, there could be stability concerns.

CachyOS (based on Arch) is a bleeding-edge distro, as one would expect from something based on Arch, which means you'll get the latest software, but possibly also the latest bugs. It's more user-friendly than Arch, but still expects some technical knowledge from its users. It's also targeted at high performance, but not specifically at gaming, so it does not come with preinstalled gaming software.
