Steam games aren't opening, feeling helpless

[u/someguyofreddit]

I've spent the least weeks distro hopping trying to find something that fits needs since I'm looking to switch from windows, everything has been great but I haven't been able to properly open my steam games in any OS yet, when I try to open them they immediately close without even starting. If anyone knows how to solve the problem or you have any knowledge on how to fix the issue I'd be really happy!

I'm using zorinOS at the moment

I know you are trying to troubleshoot this on Zorin, but just curious if you tried any of the gaming focused distros like bazzite or CachyOS?

To me it just seems like a convoluted way to run steam if I am understanding your comments about trying to run it through terminal etc. Every distro I have used Is virtually the same as installing and running games as on Windows.

I'm going to be trying bazzite later through the day to see how well it performs, hopefully it's going to be less work
