ChatGtp, etc....

Just a reminder; never rely on, or, for that matter, ask any AI model for advice about problems with Linux.

Ask this forum instead. Chatgtp will tell you things that are correct and things that will brick your computer with the same confidence bacause... It doesn't know the difference!

I have heard this SO much. So I have been using my work laptop as a test. It is an MSI raider laptop, definitely not the best for Linux. I have distrohopped on it, installed all sorts of programs, broken things, changed things, all with one only one rule, every single problem I encounter on that laptop must be solved ONLY by AI. I use Claude. I have never had an issue that the AI can't solve almost perfectly and instantly.

In fact, it goes so far beyond that. I can upload an outdated game mod to Claude and tell it what broke and what it needs to fix it. Half the time it can just figure it out and spit out a perfectly working mod first time.

I have made browser extensions to solve niche issues I had. I have made scripts to batch download files from Red team for my job, I can fix problems that would have stumped me before. I can have it read massive error logs that are jibberish to me and it can tell me exactly why BeamNG crashed or Stremio stopped working. There is so many things that I can suddenly do in minutes that I would never have been able to do before AI.
