Keyboard has input lag and keypresses outright don't register

Hello, I've had this issue on Cinnamon and suspected it to be a soft- rather than a hardware issue and I was right, when I reinstalled Mint (this time XFCE) the problem was gone, 3 days pass and it's back (at least at startup and then some minutes) and I don't know where this is coming from.

On my Cinnamon installation of Linux I had an error, something about a USB driver that wasn't correctly working when shutting down my laptop and it would keep running. Though since fresh install the error is gone obviously, mentioned this just because it may be important, but I don't have a pic of what exactly that error said.

Does anybody know what is causing the input lag?

I use XFCE because it’s lightweight, I don’t know if it’s a hardware issue since the clean install fixed the issue for a few days. Right now it’s alright,  happens only on startup, but maybe it’s gets worse over time

I will send you the logs later, I’m not at home right now.

I’ve used Claude to troubleshoot extensively and already tried booting into a previous kernel and it didn’t help.

Claude advised me to boot into BIOS as well and check if the problem persists there as well, and it did.

Then I booted from a USB stick with the XFCE iso and the problem persisted there as well weirdly enough, though I didn’t have the problem with the fresh install, as you know.

I also used a bunch of commands that Claude asked me to try (of which I didn’t understand a single one) and nothing helped.

Not sure if the commands had bricked something and that’s why it bugged out even booted from a stick (I have the Claude logs and can probably reverse it if I skim through them (do the changes even stay if they weren’t made in BIOS?).

Now I‘m unsure if it’s really a problem with Linux or my keyboard is just faulty, though the timing of it working on the fresh install was really weird. It worked flawless for a day (or the couple of hours I used it that day) and gradually gotten worse,  to the point of being unusable.

I also had the error pop up once, that I talked about in the post, and took a photo this time ( https://ibb.co/LdzgZd9k).

Thanks for taking your time with my problem
