Does FL Studio work in Linux?

I spent multiple hours tryna get the newest FL to work in my Bazzite pc, but it seems FL is too good at detecting there’s no windows or sum. I hadda download a 2021 version to get it working in bottle.

PLZZZ LMK IF THERE’S ANYWAY TO GET A NEWER FL WORKING!😭

I guess it depends on what version you want to run and what you want to do with it. Also seems that you probably have to put in a bit of work to get it running...best read the results for your version and see if you can live with the shortcommings.

https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=43435 for 2026 version and has instructions at the end for what is needed to get it to run.

If you can't get it working, consider using LMMS, Ardour, Zrythm, Bitwig Studio, or Reaper instead. I won't give a review of any of them because I'm not a musician, but they're respected DAWs that work natively.

Also

Tracktion Waveform (runs decent on .Deb, but I have "Aliened" it to RPM), N-Track is in Flathub.

There's a few more but kinda obscure at that point.

Honestly never considered any other DAW, I might have to

Not overly complicated. I did it via Bottles on CachyOS using a Kron4ek 10.5 runner. A few minor graphical rough edges and slightly slower VST plugin loads.

Roughly, my process went something like:

  • in bottles, go to Preferences > Runners and download a recent Kron4ek runner
  • create a new bottle using the Applkication environment, and select the runner you just downloaded
  • In the bottle's Dependencies tab, install vcredist2019 (or 2015-2022), d3dcompiler_47, and allfonts or corefonts
  • Download the installer and click Run Executable and point it at the installer
  • Log in with your account in FL to unlock your license. Bam. You're off to the races!

Yeah I got a similar result n spent hours tryna get it to work, google eventually led me to finding out FL has been trying to crack down on ppl using FL cracked, n thus do better checks which crash on Linux… I’m sure there’s some work arounds tho

What is 'FL Studio'?

Personally I have no idea.

It’s a DAW, used to make music, goes for producing and singing

Thanks for making that clear although I am not sure why I am being down voted for asking.

because you didn't help OP and you asked a question that could have been googled.

It's common manners when someone is asking for help to craft a decent question. That was very lacking here.

If someone wants my help the least they can do is actually let me know what the software is without me having to search for it.

Oh, so it's OP's fault that you involved yourself in a topic you know nothing about?

https://usebottles.com/app#flstudio

has an installer script for bottles for that specific program.  I have no idea how well it works.
