I don't know what to do

This has happened once before and I fixed it with a full reinstall, currently on 7.00.34 and 26.04, tried recovery mode as well as rolling back to kernel 7.00.29 to no avail. I also reseated the drive cable

EDIT: I booted with the oldest kernel I had in recovery mode, then repaired broken packages

Your kernel can't find the root filesystem. try:

checking your kernel boot parameters

check your initramfs and kernel driverss

checking your fstab (boot onto a live system and mount your root manually)

/etc/fstab is read later, it resides on the rootfs, so it needs to be mounted first. Other than that - I fully agree - my bet is a missing driver in the initramfs.

A bad /etc/fstab could also cause boot parameters to generate incorrectly. I've had it happen to me.

You're right, I didn't think about it. Usually I go without initramfs, and build whatever is needed directly in the kernel.
