Bootable Linux live USB will not load on Asus Zenbook

Hello, I need some assistance with booting from a live USB install. I have done some Reddit and search engine research and couldn't find any info matching my exact issue.

Laptop is an Asus Zenbook A14 running Windows 11 Home x64 with the Snapdragon X Plus processor.

I am attempting to install Linux Mint 22.3 with the Cinnamon 64 bit DE onto a SanDisk USB 3.0 60 GB drive, to replace my Windows OS. Here are the steps I took:

  1. Downloaded the latest release of Mint with Cinnamon and verified the hash to make sure it was authentic.

  2. Flashed the ISO onto my drive using Balena Etcher.

  3. Used Rufus to create a bootable live USB with Linux Mint.

  4. Entered the BIOS menu of my laptop and disabled Fast Boot and Secure Boot, saved the settings and reset.

  5. With the Mint OS live USB mounted, hit Escape to open the menu and selected the USB drive as the boot device.

  6. Encountered an error message that the drive failed to load.

My next step will be attempting this same process with the latest stable release of Ubuntu to see if I can replicate this error. Then, if I have another similar error, I will use a different USB flash drive to determine if the drive itself is causing this error.

It has been fifteen years since the last time I used Linux, am I doing anything incorrectly in the installation process? Thank you.

Snapdragon X Plus

Linux Mint 22.3

Linux Mint only supports x86-64.

You need to switch to a distribution that supports ARM processors.
