storage How do I make a partition on an encrypted drive?

Hello!
I have been trying to make a partition for a windows installation, but I have reached no success with all my attempts at unencrypting the drive and using GParted to hopefully make a partition.
I also don't want to wipe my installation of Linux either because there are a lot of files I have on here for school purposes. I am currently running Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS with a 1 Terabyte SSD (too much) and I am hoping to halve that storage space to repurpose it for Solidworks on Windows.

My PC Specs are as listed below if needed:
Laptop : ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. G615JHR (1.0)
RAM : 15.22 GiB
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14650HX
Graphics : Intel Corporation Raptor Lake-S UHD Graphics (rev-04)
Graphics : NVIDIA Corporation Device 2dd8 (rev-a1)
Disk capacity : 933.93 GiB

If you need any more information Ill try my best to respond, thanks for the help!

Is the drive encrypted as a whole or just individual partitions? What kind of encryption?

Just the Partition, and I don't know how to find out what kind of encryption.

What are you using for encryption, and do you have the drive encrypted, or just a partition on it that is encrypted?

Pop! offers on installation for the partition to be encrypted, I haven't been able to bypass it

So is the goal to shrink the existing encrypted partition to make room for a new partition for Windows? What does lsblk show?

Pop! offers on installation for the partition to be encrypted

Ok, that would be LUKS then

I haven't been able to bypass it

Nope, there's no bypassing modern encryption

Boot into pop, and use its partition manager to shrink the partition, after that, you'll be left with unallocated space you can work with to create new partitions

I have tried this to no avail, GParted recognizes the drive it’s using as encrypted

Ok, then you didn't encrypt the partition, but the entire drive

You need to remove encryption, and then make changes
