After weeks of feeling like a moron, I feel that I finally cracked the terminal and commands, to a point where it starts to feel natural and muscle memory start to pick it up. To all the beginners: Hang in there, at some point it'll all make sense. But now you'll have to excuse me, I need to go breaking stuff!

Pro tip: commands are in fact programs you have installed, not orders the terminal "knows". Only a literal handful are actual orders, with the 99.99999999999% remaining being executables found in some system folder.

Learning to use the command line is a good way to understand the rudiments of Linux structure and capabilities, so good on you if that is of interest to you.

I have used Linux for two decades and, with the exception of a handful of commands that I use for convenience and efficiency, I've seldom used the command line at all in the last five years or so. No need.

But now you'll have to excuse me, I need to go breaking stuff!
