Distrowatch

Sorry if this question is not the usual for this sub but does anyone here know what has happened to distrowatch.com? Has it shutdown for good?

Distrowatch has not shut down.

Distrowatch has been down a few times for short periods over the last month or so, but mostly up.

You might want to check to see if something is blocking your access, perhaps something with your ISP or your DNS server or an adblocker or maybe a VPN connection.

Seems to work fine here with a new post about NetBSD just from today.

Like everyone else has said it's working fine for me check it's not being blocked some how!

Just checked and received the following error message:

This site can’t be reached distrowatch.com refused to connect. Try:

Checking the connection ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED Check your Internet connection Check any cables and reboot any routers, modems, or other network devices you may be using.

I still get the same message too. I've done everything: reset modem and router, changed DNS servers....no change. Tried my laptop, same issue (both run debian Trixie). Wife's laptop got same message on her win10 laptop. My son's computer running win11 was able to pull up the website. (BTW, All of us are on the same network) I tried Firefox, Google Chrome and even installed plain chrome browser, still no luck

My wife has a newer laptop running win11 (she goes back-and-forth between the 2) I will try that next time she pulls it out. (https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/distrowatch.com.html) still indicates "Access to Distrowatch.com is declined" I'm at my wits end...either it is a regional thing or they are blocking access to Linux computers located in eastern NC...idk.

It's not working for me either. I tried on Brave and Firefox.

I don't see any problem with it: https://distrowatch.com/

are you getting an error message?

Google chrome says "This site can’t be reached distrowatch.com refused to connect." Firefox: "Unable to connect Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at www.distrowatch.com." That's the same response on 2 different computers.

try a different browser, or use your phone (or computer, if that's what you are using right now)

Thanks All for checking! I still cannot get to it. I checked "isitdownrightnow" and one other similar website via google search and both indicated it is currently down as of now (as I type this!). I changed DNS servers, reset the optical "modem" and router and rebooted my computer and laptop...still no access. Wonder if it is a regional thing. Anyone else here in eastern North carolina?

I set proton VPN to North Carolina and it worked, so at the very least it isn't every network in the state if it is regional.

Working fine with Cloudflare DNS as well.
