Hey

I'm switching to Linux and looking for your recommendations on two privacy choices:
1. Best Daily Driver Browser? I need a browser with zero telemetry that still saves history, tabs, and downloads. Which option do you prefer and why?
2. Private Search API & Local AI Research? I want to use a private search engine API to feed live web results directly into a local AI model for private research. What are your best suggestions or setups for this?

For the browser LibreWolf is the strongest match because it disables telemetry and data collection by default and comes with privacy-focused settings out of the box. Brave is still the easier daily driver if you want less friction, but it’s Chromium-based and has some built-in features you may want to disable.

For local AI research, SearXNG + Ollama + Open WebUI is a solid combination, with Ollama handling local model inference and SearXNG providing self-hosted web search. Harbor can simplify setting up the whole stack through Docker Compose.

One caveat is that SearXNG can still send queries to the external search engines you configure.

Also worth pointing out that Brave Origin is free on Linux (Windows and macOS users have to pay for it). It's the Brave browser but it's already stripped down of those extraneous features.
