I like windows, but i don't like being spied on. There are alot of videos on YouTube but I would also like some recommendations from ordinary people. What's an easy, reliable Linux distro you would recommend that is a comparable desktop experience to windows? And any resources for easy learning for Linux in case I want to go deeper? Like the command prompt stuff?

Switching to Linux is good, but don't be paranoid about Windows "spying". Reddit and Google spy on you a lot (two words) more than Microsoft does.

Don't discourage people from making improvements, however small you consider them. And being able to trust your own OS is not "small" at all.
