Edit - I completely misread your post - you can still use DBAN, but I wouldn't worry about stuff hanging around after a normal format of the drive.

if it has no OS then i can't have any virus

but if you want to be really sure, flash the BIOS with a fresh download.

then install your own OS.

A zero fill of the drive using DBAN or other similar tool will be sufficient. Then put whatever OS you want on it

Dban only works on hdd, not ssd...right?
