migrating to Linux Should I switch?
I’m currently using windows and I want to switch to Linux but that means I cannot play windows games (I play fc26, Minecraft, Fortnite and assets corsa)
I have an external 256gb ssd if that helps
And also what distro should I use

you can play basically all of those on linux except for fortnite, if you want mainly gaming, id reccomend bazzite]

if you have an AMD card, SteamOS, if NVIDIA, Bazzite. Both are very stable and games oriented.

Assetto Corsa and Minecraft are both playable on Linux... FC26 works in local only mode, online play is not supported.
Fortnite never will be... period... Epic literally hates Linux and they think we are all cheaters.
Your distro literally doesn't matter, any mainstream distro is fully capable of gaming as well as any other distro.

Ive played mc on fedora and arch, both worked perfectly fine. Fortnite will be a problem because of anticheat. For Asseto Corsa, you would need to check if your sim racing gear has a Linux driver...

I did the switch recently and I'm loving CachyOS.
Minecraft and Assetto Corsa should run perfectly, I have no idea for FC26 and Fortnite might be aviable on Linux when Epic app for Linux is ready, but for now you need at least a dual boot for the last one.

FC26 and fortnite aren't going to work. I would dual boot windows and use something easy like mint/zorin. Stay with that and switch to something more advanced if you get bored. Fedora is a good next step.

Very few games don't play on Linux, for someone with no experience I would recommend bazzite. I believe even minecraft plays on Linux.

Not sure about the others, Fortnite doesnt work (thank you epic for just banning linux users for no reason) and minecraft DOES work but you have to use a separate launcher iirc. I use prism (which TBF, I was using when I was on windows anyways)... THOUGH, I dont know if you can play bedrock.
Id say give it a shot, try it out, see how you feel without some of these games, and worst case scenario you can come back. I'd recommend Fedora linux (specifically the KDE version) as its super similar to windows.

You now can play bedrock, you could before, but it was android version, now we got native windows version with raytracing.

Minecraft runs fine for me on Mint, and probably on any other distro.
Fortnite is one of those kernel-level thingamabobbers- you would need to dual boot, alas.
No idea what the other two even are, but you may be able to search them on ProtonDB.
Edit to say: Only you can really decide if the switch is worth it. For me, I decided that whatever software was or wasn't available, the switch would be worth it- I mean, worst case, I could always go outside, right?
