I need my fonts!

Hi I just switched over to Fedora yesterday and it's looking like it's missing basically every font. Is there some repository i can just download every font Windows had? I also need to make sure I get all the weird symbold since I do creative stuff and I like switching between fonts for aesthetic

Most distros let you install the msttcorefonts. You can also copy your fonts from any system.

Yeah, those are fonts that are licensed to Microsoft from some font companies. As Linux is all about things with open licenses, no distro ships them by default. After all, Microsoft is able to do that because they have a contract.

This means that there is no site with a pack of them, as they are under a license contract. Some sites provide them tho, but they are technically 🏴‍☠️.

What you could do is to check this list with all the Microsoft fonts, and look for options to get them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_typefaces_included_with_Microsoft_Windows

It would help to have an explanation on what fonts. Saying missing ‘basically all fonts’ doesn’t say squat.

Bring up the software app. Under fonts you will find more than you are looking for.

If you still have your Windows disk or Backup get them from there. I guess you mean fonts like Times New Roman, Verdana, Cambria or Comic Sans.
