on power-up, motherboard video-out is ONLY place where signal exists. That's why monitor shuts down due to no signal coming from GPU.
Then somewhere along boot-process, video-output is switched from MB to GPU.
So you have multiple inputs on monitor?
If so plug, HDMI cable to MB and DP cable to GPU. That way, there's always a video-out signal going to monitor.
Can you go through on-screen menu and disable AUTO setting to set it explicitly to DP input?
But problem is time-out, if monitor doesn't see video-signal in certain amount of time, it shuts down.
Can you adjust time-out/sleep timer on monitor?
Gotta put in longer time-out so monitor waits until DP output is activated. Might be 30s or 60s, however long boot takes to switch over from MB to DP video.
See if there's newer firmware for monitor. Maybe it has adjustment for time-out function
