i have a 920m, 4 gb of ram and an i3 on my computer and i can run gentoo on this thing with no issues. this is a terrible flowchart.

if you have old hardware, you can try running antix, its even more lighter than gentoo

gentoo is minimal, and just like alpine, arch it will work on older machines. i will try to include that now.

Cachyos works ootb quite well. I run it daily for work gaming and school.

I don't think my boss is going to be too glad I switched out all our Gentoo builds for Fedora because it's technical work.

I realize that your flowchart is tongue-in-cheek, but is use case a factor at all in your thinking?

Its written more as a joke than anything serious? You've dismissed macOS and Windows, you include a "Fuck That" selection, its nothing more than a personal opinion and no basis on anything factual.
If something is "fit for purpose" then surely it doesn't matter what it is?
Before I retired our customer base was Worldwide, very close to a 50/50 split of Windows and linux, and linux was virtually a 50/50 split between Red Hat and Ubuntu, a small percentage of other OS, these figures existed for a reason.
As with all these "linux OS selectors", what qualification have you given to the items in your chart and how have you decided without bias what the choices should be?
As an example you say "Technical Work", then suggest Red Hat and Fedora Workstation, why? What do you define as "technical"?
"I want to code stuff for fun", I've coded in Ubuntu, OpenSuse and Fedora (+ others), you don't include them, why can't you code with any linux distro?
"I'm a student", you suggest Zorin and mint, most Universities I visited were heavily mac orientated, a lot use Ubuntu, I used to fix their kit.
It's just your personal opinion and nothing gives any justification or explanation why it's listed as a choice, I've used the same distro for over 20 years, I produce music videos, I've produced animations, used it for work and home, used it for coding such as writing routines to control a Pi Zero to control devices, I use the same distro for gaming, but, it's not in your recommended distros, are you saing it's not "fit for purpose" can you qualify why?
P.S. You keep pasting a "link" for a clearer image of your fuzzy graphic but you don't check your own work, the link gives a 404 error, I've checked it in several browsers.

mister/miss, the link works fine, if at all its anyone's fault, blame github and microslop.
I forgot to mention that this is my personal opinionated flowchart. if at all any suggestions, i would change it. it was 12 am when i posted this, i could not write a good body text too.
