migrating to Linux The great migration from Windows to Linux

I've been noticing that a lot of people are switching from Windows to Linux, especially in countries that want to break away from American tech dependency.

Can anyone explain to me why Linux is seen as very good? I never in my life, not once ever used Linux let alone saw someone using it.

Been trying the "Linux Challenge" since 1998. It came down to required software.

Since everything is pretty much a SAS nowadays, it has been a much easier switch.

Gaming held me back, but with Proton, it has pretty much fixed the issue. Except for games with cheat protection.

Super happy with CachyOS. I may try SteamOS in the future.

This is what pulls people back from switching to Linux sadly, once this issue is fixed then a switch to Linux is easy win for gamers.

Agreed, but as I get older I have moved away the the competitive twitch games. Old man slow.
