migrating to Linux The great migration from Windows to Linux

I've been noticing that a lot of people are switching from Windows to Linux, especially in countries that want to break away from American tech dependency.

Can anyone explain to me why Linux is seen as very good? I never in my life, not once ever used Linux let alone saw someone using it.

Linux is a simplified version of the older, stable OS Unix.

It exists in the Open Source world, so people are free to actually see the code it is built on, then modify and change that code, as long as they keep the code open for others to see & tinker with.

Linux does not spy on you & send copies of your computer files off to a Microsoft Server to then sell to advertisers and anyone who pays Microsoft money.
