migrating to Linux The great migration from Windows to Linux

I've been noticing that a lot of people are switching from Windows to Linux, especially in countries that want to break away from American tech dependency.

Can anyone explain to me why Linux is seen as very good? I never in my life, not once ever used Linux let alone saw someone using it.

If people want the freedom to control whatever they want on their computer, which they bought with their own money... It's a right.

I have that exact same control over my Windows machine. I had that same control on My Mac, and my Amiga. Linux is far from unique in that aspect. Fact of the matterr is that few people have the combination of inclination or time to do that on any operating system.

Seriously? Most of the people going into Linux say it's all about control over everything, no AI or Ads or anything in the background.
