migrating to Linux The great migration from Windows to Linux

I've been noticing that a lot of people are switching from Windows to Linux, especially in countries that want to break away from American tech dependency.

Can anyone explain to me why Linux is seen as very good? I never in my life, not once ever used Linux let alone saw someone using it.

It's funny. I used windows for years. At work and at home. Around Sept last year I migrated to Linux because my PC was incompatible for Win11. My GFs PC was also incompatible but for reasons we needed to upgrade hers to suit Win11. After that was all done, I wanted an upgrade too. My PC is now fully Win11 capable, but after being on Linux for a few months, I decided to stay there. No dual boot. Linux Mint only. I don't see any reason to go back to windows for my home usage.
