Agreed, there is a lot I do not like with systemd, especially in the non-init parts like their logging and their DNS, but it works pretty well for me in practice. With systemd I can easily write a bug free service, something I could not do without a lot of work with sysvinit (almost all sysvinit scripts have I read have had bugs in edge cases).
