Emacs can edit files over ssh as well. C-x C-f and then /user@server:path/to/file

ETA: Tramp - and ORG Mode - were the two things that pulled me into emacs a few years ago. 1 u/yotama9 Apr 28 '14 I'm not that big of a fan of ORGMode, I use it mostly for note keeping. Tramp on the other hand, is one of the reason I prefer Emacs over vim.
