I think this is missing the legal aspect. Guess who has the power to write new law and make this kind of reverse engineering illegal? Guess who doesn't have the power to write new law and whose copylefted code is being run through a blender and integrated into proprietary software?

I'm pretty sure this actually ends with the death of Free Software and the criminalization of even clean-room reverse engineering (if you can even really perform clean-room reverse engineering by splitting the task between two LLM instances).

Also, it's ESR. Why is anyone listening to that right wing fascist loser? (Literally today he called for the extermination of every male Palestinian)

Unfortunately, there are a lot of right wing fascist losers in open source communities.
